PROXIMA LED is not as simple as it seems at first sight. This is a watch and cell phone LED at the same time.

It was created by industrial designer Johan Loekito California.

It is a collaborative project with Samsung Design America created in autumn

2009. The theme of this project is that you’ll never lose your phone again.

If you forget your cellphone at home very often, misplace it and it takes you long to find it again, if you have lost your phone in public places then it s time to solve all these problems using the Samsung Proxima.

The LED watch is designed to be with mobile pohne. The wearable unit is combined with proximity sensor. The sensor can check the bearing of the wearable unit. It means never lose your phone again . When the user moves far away from the wearable unit, the warning tone will be produced by phone. You can press the button to search the wearable unit.

The user is allowed to define the position of the contact person with the proximity sensor. The wearable unit has the colored electronic paper and dual OLED screens.

The Proxima is a standard device with the wristband coming in different colours/styles. The design is rather novel and the device does double as an LED wrist watch, which doubles the efficiency as well. One of the major benefits from a device like this is that it is good for people who tend to misplace everything, and at the same time, it makes for a pretty decent fashion trend.

The phone has a wristband acting as a dock for a detachable mobile phone. A sensor of proximity makes the wristband emit a tone or vibrate if the phone is far from it allowing to find the missing phone by pressing a button. Apart from it, the phone is also capable to detect nearby contacts using the same device, letting you set your location details and privacy. We hope that Samsung will manufacture this clever idea before another phone falls into oblivion.
